Bucks County Curling Club COVID Policy
Last updated July 26th, 2023
General Club/League policy
At this time the Bucks County Curling Club does not have a vaccination requirement for participation in leagues, bonspiels, or other events.
If you are sick or experiencing symptoms of an illness, please stay home. If you test positive for COVID, follow CDC guidance for quarantining, masking, and other recommendations. Please do not return to the club earlier than recommended by the CDC. For the courtesy of other members, please do not reserve sub spots until you are able to return to the club.
If you test positive for COVID after attending a league night, please notify your league coordinator.
Bonspiel Policy
While the club will no longer test for COVID as a component of participation, anyone who is experiencing symptoms – COVID or otherwise – is encouraged to test, mask, and consider their participation.
If a curler tests positive in the days leading up to the bonspiel, please reach out to the bonspiel coordinator about bringing/asking for a sub,.
If a curler tests positive during a bonspiel, that curler can no longer play in the competition. (S)He/they can return home or quarantine at the hotel. The remainder of the team must be masked while at the club but may participate in the remainder of the event, provided they test negative. Teams may continue with three members, or they can use a pre-approved sub provided by the club. If more than one member of the team tests positive, please reach out to the coordinator for instruction.
If the bonspiel coordinator is alerted to a participant who is experiencing symptoms and either (a) tests positive without notifying the bonspiel coordinator or (b) refuses to test to avoid a positive test, the bonspiel coordinator shall take appropriate action at their discretion, which may include removing that curler from the event.
Disclaimer
The Board will continue to monitor the COVID situation and may impose restrictions on attendance, leagues, and/or bonspiels during the season as necessary to protect the interests of the club and its members. As much notice as reasonably possible for any change will be provided before it is implemented.
